Our programs last 2 - 4 hours. Groups are kept small (usually less than 10) to enhance interactive participation and to maximize your connection to nature.

SALT MARSH - PADDLE
Paddle on rivers and creeks through the salt marsh. Discover up close the variety of life that inhabits these waters and grasses; dolphin, oysters, birds, crabs, and more. Learn the importance of the mud, grass, and keystone species.
BEACH WALK
Wander on a local beach and learn about the items put there by the waves and tides. See evidence of the creatures that live in the sand. Discover the fascinating lives of the creatures that inhabit our coast.


BARRIER ISLANDS - PADDLE
Paddle along one of the many Lowcountry barrier islands. Learn how these islands formed and support unique and vital habitat for migrating and nesting birds. See evidence of the conflict between the ever changing nature of these islands and man's desire to control this change.
MARSH WALK
Walk along the edge of the salt marsh. Discover up close the variety of life that inhabits these waters and grasses; oysters, birds, fish, crabs, and more. Learn the importance of the mud, grass, and keystone species.


LIFE IN THE RICE FIELDS - PADDLE
Paddle the waters alongside former rice impoundments. Learn the history of the Rice Plantation Enterprise in South Carolina and how the landscape was transformed and cultivated - at a very high human cost.
BARRIER ISLAND WALK

HUG A HUNTER - PADDLE
Paddle in the waters of the ACE Basin. Hear the story of the people and organizations working together to preserve this unique habitat. Discover its beauty and the critical role hunters took on in its conservation.
WINTERING BIRDS
Walk along the embankments of managed wetlands to see the variety of wading and shore birds and ducks and grebes that winter in the Lowcountry. We will observe the variety of skills and behaviors and wonder where the birds will go to breed.

WADING BIRD ROOKERY
Sit still among the cacophony of a wading bird rookery. Hear the various calls, view the beautiful breeding plumage, observe the variety of behaviors. This concentration of life is amazing.

BOTTOMLAND SWAMP EXPERIENCE
Paddle on the Edisto River, wander into the flooded cyprus and tupelo bottomland forest. See owls, swallowtail kites, prothonotary warblers and many beautiful trees. It is mesmerizing. Each trip differs. I'm not sure what we will see, but it will be lovely.
